Notifile
Privacy policy
Effective 19 October 2026
In short: Notifile keeps your notification history on your phone and nowhere else. It has no Internet permission, so it cannot send anything off your phone, and the developer receives no data about you.
What Notifile reads
Notifile works only after you turn on Android's Notification access for it. The app explains what that means before it asks. With that access, it reads the notifications your apps post:
- the app that posted it, its title and text, and the time it arrived;
- for chat notifications, the messages, the names of the people in the conversation, and their photos if the notification includes them;
- pictures attached to a notification;
- when and how a notification was removed (for example, swiped away or deleted by the sender's app).
To label your history, Notifile also uses the names and icons of the apps that post notifications. It also records when apps are installed, updated or removed, which you can see in the "App changes" log.
If you turn on the optional app lock, Android's own fingerprint, face or PIN prompt checks it's you. Notifile never sees or stores biometric data.
Where it is kept
Everything is stored in Notifile's private storage on your phone, which other apps can't read. Your history, icons and pictures are not included in Android's cloud backup.
What is shared
Nothing. Notifile doesn't request the Internet permission, so Android blocks it from making any network connection. It contains no ads, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services, and it has no accounts.
You can export your history (as a spreadsheet, a text file or a backup file) or share a single notification. This only happens when you choose to, and the file goes only where you send it.
Purchases
Notifile Pro is bought through Google Play, which handles the payment under Google's privacy policy. Notifile only asks the Play Store app on your phone whether Pro is owned. It never sees your payment details.
Keeping and deleting your data
You choose how long your history is kept: forever, or 7, 30, 90 or 365 days. You can delete single records, everything from one app, saved pictures, or your whole history in Settings. Uninstalling Notifile deletes everything it stored. You can turn off Notification access at any time in Android's settings, and Notifile stops reading notifications straight away.
Who publishes Notifile
Notifile is published by François Le Roux, trading as Francis the Red Studio, Rue des Francs 50, 1040 Etterbeek, Belgium (enterprise number 1043.569.946). Because Notifile sends no data to us, we hold no personal data from the app. The studio's general privacy policy explains your rights, including how to complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
Children
Notifile is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
